At the present I do use a EFHW 8010hp model antenna, it does ok on all the bands tunes nicely on them using the internal tuner, but seems to lack on the 20m band, don't seem to do as well as the old 102ft G5RV I used to run...I have the EF up about 50ft high on both ends, between 2 tree's here in the yard, in which we have moved since I replaced the G5RV with this EF...

What do you all recommend for 20m use ?...

"....Unlike many END FED antennas on the market, this one does not require the Antenna Tuner to operate. It is a resonant Half wave on 80m (3.5MHz) therefore also resonant on second, third, and fourth harmonics, etc. ..."

Yeah, but,.... the feedpoint impedance on the even harmonics will be in the thousands of Ohms.

A real G5RV is a monoband antenna for 20 meters.

You do realize that those two sentences contradict each other don't you.

Or if you are not wanting a dipole. How about an Extended Double Zepp with a ladder line into coax?
Great Antenna. Mine is 180 ft long for 80 meters, Ladder line fed to 450 ohm balun to coax. tune 6 thru 30 and 80 with the internal tuner on my FT DX 3000 will do 40 with a MFJ 969

Since I started this thread, I have moved that EF and it is in the lower end of the yard, still between 2 tree's and have the transformer end at 55ft and the tail at 65ft, and I do have a ground wire on it, and feeding it with a 160ft of RG 213 coax, had a little RFI, but took care of that and it is doing good where it is now, 20m and 17m, 15m, 12m, 10m have no noise in the RX, but on 40m and 80m bands noise runs up to like a S5 or so.....guessing this is normal, having noise like this on these 2 bands......Also, have a lot of tall trees in the yard to use here....but this is what I'm running at the present....

With so many tall trees try it, or build another, as an inverted L. Start near the ground, (2' - 6') ground the braid to a ground rod, and go up vertically as far as you can running the remainder horizontally.
This configuration gave me good 20m performance. I could go only ~30' vertically. As for 40/80m noise, all the time even with a horizontal loop...
