I am at a loss, maybe some kind of audio limiter on the mic socket? I will try some different microphones and see if I can make it any better. That's sh1tty waveform for sure. Raising carrier won't help.
I have an RFX95HD on my Galaxy 86v, works great, looks great on the scope in both AM and SSB. The Ares 2 is just different for some reason.I think it is the padding on the input side, I think the guys at palomar mostly intended for it to go on cobra 29s with cliped limiters.
I have recently had 3 rfx kits blow the electrolytic capacitor in them shortly after powering up the unit the first time, after I change the cap no more problems. I run my bench at 14.8 because that is what many of the trucks provide to the radio and I like to tune at working voltage but that should not have blown the supposedly 16 volt cap/
I think @Tim Chambers was working on a way to do it. Maybe he can give us an update.Did anyone ever figure out a proper npc for this board?
Just randomly ran across this.
