Not my choice (flint) but it throws .54 caliber lead, so I’ll let it in my collection with caps

Dan , never did one of those . Over 45 years ago I did a Navy Colt Kit . Fun to build , Fun to shoot , Not Fun to Clean after firing ! Which I did once ! It went from a Wall Hanger , to a Safe Queen .

Ain’t that the truth... I have a pair of 1858s that I’ve shot quite a bit but it sure is messy!

One is still loaded up with #8 shot...they actually make pretty good snake guns

Yup ! Only BP I shoot now is Sabots out of TC Black Diamond . I call it my BP 30.06 !

Yes - DPM in this case, and that’s going to be a tough/ complex build.
