Got a new antenna up!!

60 foot of "Wilson" tower, about 7 feet of the first section is in the ground, no cement pad. From the ground to the ground plane radials it's exactly 60 ft. To the tip of the antenna it's 82 ft 6 in.

I don't do much DX these days, other than to get ahold of fellow WWDX forum members. Normally I keep to the locals and ragchew. I run 27.395 LSB, and 27.455 LSB. :)

I found that the SPT-500 and the Sirio Starduster are pretty close TX and RX at the the same height. Slight advantage goes to the Starduster for not having a matcher, don't have to worry about the matcher getting all mangled up. Overall, I prefer the SPT-500, as it is more durable in the winds I have here on the hill. The Starduster didn't last more than about a month before the vertical snapped on me.
