It can be done. I recall seeing an add for (3) Super Perpetrator antennas on 11 meters somewhere.

Look at Page 32 & on of the PDF after downloading the manual for the Hygain AV-18HT for some ideas. They claim an arrangement of three switchable verticals that give a 60 degree pattern in six selectable directions. Pretty cool.

Different altogether. He is talking about vertical stacking. Puting one above the other above another. You are describing horizontal stacking/phasing which is what others have mentioned.

Four-square arrays do work and work quite well. I worked Bill, ZS6CCY, in Vallwater South Africa on 80m and he was using a four-square array. I was using an inverted L with 100 watts at the time. It was about two hours past his local sunrise which made the contact all the more interesting. His four-square was working quite well that morning/night. Below is Bills full sized 80m four square array.

Yeah no kidding. Much easier to do. A four square for upper HF might be OK to experiment with but 5herecare definitely better options.

And on top of his 70' structure would certainly smoke the three vertical idea if it's even possible and it sounds like it's not.

I had a contact on 20 meters to Great Britain he was using a four square in his garden, decent signal.

I have made contact into Russia he was using a four square on 75 meters and what a signal he had.

I run a 4 square array with fantastic results I'm using 4 Imax 2000's 18' to the feed point 36' apart and chain link fence as a ground grid and will out talk and out hear a 4 element beam at 40' with ease. have a lot of money and time tied up install and tuning but well worth it. no more box antenna kits for me.

Besides blowing a hole in the roof and following the coax down to the kitchen where the radio was it blew half the cabinets off the kitchen walls and set the house on fire causing well over $30,000 damage. We never did find much more than some splinters and the metal mount that was bolted to the pipe.

That's sad and Scarry. I wonder if there's any stats on cb/ham radio lightening antenna strikes? What's the best way to protect/avoid from this happening? My im2000 has nothing safety wise. Just im2000 10 ft off the ground in my yard. It's about.25ft away from my home and all I do to safe keep my equipment is unplug the power cords and remove the pl259 from the station when not in use or bad weathers on the way.

Where do I begin? First off thanks for doing something differently. And the fact it actually works is pretty cool. Not that hundreds or thousands been done before, but I never heard of an 11 meter example.
