TH-D72 Echolink

Anyone with success setting up a Kennwood TH-D72 to work with Echolink on a PC? I mean which interface did you use? Rig Blaster, etc. I can set up the radio and the program.

You can use a basic line in/line out mic/speaker cable from the radio to PC for the sound card interface. The mic and speaker jacks on the Kenwood are standard connectors 2.5 mm (1/10") stereo for the Speaker (SP) Jack and 3.5 mm (1/8") stereo connector for the microphone (MIC) jack

Then you just turn on VOX on the radio and set the sound output level on the PC so that the radio doesn't over deviate. Keep it simple...it will work.

using an ht as an echolink node is not a good idea. since the radio would spend much of the time in transmit mode handhelds tend to overheat where a mobile radio can do full duty cycle on low power.
