Here in Australia channel zero was popular with AMers to get away from the big guys with ssb.. Zero was 26.955. But 27Meg is nearly dead down here now. Don't forget New Zealand still has 26mhz CB..

Back in the 70s/80s we had the "Cricket" and the "Paw Paw Patch" we would go to on the "Funny channels" when we had trouble on the regular standby......our standby was ch 1...when we went to the hide out channels we would use those back of the set antennas and low watts...trying to make it harder to find us.
