Easiest way to find out is to get one and try it out. OR, you can cut about 9 feet of wire and use that. A 102" conductor is a 102" conductor. The fact that one is advertised as an antenna and the other one is just wire is immaterial.
Experiment!
I asked because everywhere I read about the 102" says it's an excellent "quarter" wave
It's a 1/4 wave on 11 meters. But that doesn't matter if you're just listening.

Another major solar flare, but this time from an active region just beginning to turn into view off the east limb. It is possible that the group responsible is old AR 3654 from the previous rotation. The latest flare, an X2.99 event just peaked at 14:38 UTC (May 15). Stay tuned |
