    Not needed but wanted... Alinco DJ-G7T radio. Most prices in Canada are over $500, HRO had them on sale, shipping, duty, exchange just over $320. Oh wait, yes honey I needed another radio.

    Parachute HF portable.... WTF?? streaming as it happened?? That is one for the record books. With an Icom 706 I think they said, 100 watts at 7000' with an EFHW.

    Pole Cat CB base antenna

    I had an old Rat shack base antenna that blew the match section. I constructed a matching ring similar to attached drawing. I tuned it for 10 metres and it would take everything a SB200 could put into it.

    Update on my portable kit

    Mostly use trees for antenna support, when needed a 7.2 mr fishing pole shortened to about 6 metres. Only fix need out of close to 300 activations was a cracked Anderson powerpole connector after I kneeled on it, otherwise a multi-tool always on my pack.

    Or hit an mountain top with a KX3 or KX2. Adjust the filtering down, wire 2 element yagi and you are good.
