I'll bite.... What is the antenna doing or not doing? Also need to know what type of antenna, brand, height above ground.... and what kind of meter are you using?

Your right that I was thinking of the 858 chassis. as for the transformer, should be easy enough to rewind the coil. It appears to be a 1 to 1 ratio. Remove the transformer (toroid), remove the copper wire and match up the lengths.... tin the longer legs of the wire and reinstall. Looks to be...
There is a small tantalum capacitor near the finals that can short out and the B+ will be lost to the output.... I do not remember the part number but the cap is almost gum drop and blue in colour.... it is a polarized cap.

BPL or Broadband over Power Line.... Certain power companies use their power lines to carry control signals for remote switches and auto-disconnects also monitoring substations. They are most likely in violation of FCC rules if it radiates.
This applies to both of these situations....

It is called SONY Bond and when it ages it can become conductive and corrosive. I had a 2510 that lost the B+ to the finals and I found the SONY Bond had made a perfect place to corrode the copper under a wire held down by it.
In certain HAM transceivers it has caused the VCOs to unlock and...
Same goes for plasma televisions, electronic washing machines, bad power line cut-outs and breakers (fuses), power line transformers, my wife's mixer, arc welders, microwave ovens.... the list goes on!

A bit late on this but I have an old Cobra 135, a 23 channel base and modified with a second crystal.... gives it 46 channels total and the voice lock slides almost 5 channels. Very stable and with it's D-104 mike I get great report all the time!
Most of all the old Cobras are a good choice...
I have the AT6666, from the circuit diagrams the Lincoln II is very close build. Mine is an early build and needs some mods and hoping the same mods for the early Lincoln will work. I like my 6666 and stock mic works very good!
Less money to boot!

I have lots of fun listening to WEB based SDR receivers. Many of these are located in far away parts of the World.
Here are the basic URLs....

With both you select your receiver and just follow the promps. You can zoom into the...
Well I scored two CPIs! A CPI CP2000 base with original mike and a CPI CP400 mobile with original mic and base/power supply stand! Also all documentation!
The base seems to work fine and the IC chips internally show a date code of 1982 and older. There are four added switches, two are...
I have heard packet mode on the DX band of 11 meters above channel 40. My question is about the other modes such as JT65, FT8, Olivia or RTTY and more.
Since the FCC has loosened the distance restriction stands to reason the rest of 11 meters should be less strapped.

I also have the AnyTone 2 meter version of this, somewhat different but a lot in common that the design must be from the same source. I have the Kenwood Th-F6A and being a tri-bander it has 220 also. I picked for free a KDK 220 mobile, must be from 1984, the CPU battery was shot so it would not...
Since there is interest in 220 in my area and the possibility of a repeater. I bought this transceiver for a good price on Ebay. $128 out of my Pay Pal account and it was on it's way. Three day wait! not bad....
Unlike most Chinese rigs it was pretty easy to use with out reading the manual...
