    Anybody use switching power supplies?

Well, I think he changed the PSUs. The single 700 I have is an older one and I can get 15.xv out of it. The two I have ganged max out at 14.2v. But, I had an issue with these when I first put them into use. He told me they were all set, just parallel them and they will do the rest. This was not...

    11 meter is very quiet?

I was on for quite some time but the pileup was atrocious! Very hard to pick one out as every time I wanted to contact someone, someone else talked over the top. It was brutal.

    Anybody use switching power supplies?

That's not true. Mobile amps are meant to run in an automotive environment. A vehicle runs between 14.4v and 15v when the battery is at full charge and the vehicle running. These voltages will not blow your finals.

    Anybody use switching power supplies?

    This is what I use. Megawatt 700 x 2 @14.2v for my DX-500. I use a separate one @14.5v for my Stryker 955

    11 meter is very quiet?

Well, let me start out by saying that I grew up in a middle class home. My mother raised me by taking school census so we could have GMO vegetables three time a week. N-kay? I had a job at Mickey Lou's Bargain Basement, where I would smell the donated clothing before hanging them. N-kay...

Anytone at5555n II high swr on ssb , low swr on am and fm

I may be wrong, but I don't believe you can check SWR in SSB. How do you calibrate the meter in SSB? The power output varies from 0 to max as you speak. Set your antenna with a dead carrier and call it a day.

    SWR IS SUDDENLY PEGGED OUT

Yup, I have a meter between the radio and amp, then one after the amp to the antenna. They are always active.

Lets logically end the LMR-400 debate.

I was thinking more like having a fixed 4 pin connector going into the radio, BUT, it has a flat face with 4 circular contact rings where the second half of the connector case would have spring loaded pins that contact the rings. A center thumb screw would tighten the cases together when the...

I would even like to have a clockable 90° swivel for a mic connector as well.

Lets logically end the LMR-400 debate.

Personally, I don't get the hype behind running 1/2" coax unless you're running 3kw or a 400' run. I've used LMR-240 for many years and have used 1500 pep through it without any issues. It only has 1db loss at 100' @ 27mhz and it's less than 1/4" diameter. I'm still using 240 today and see NO...
