I got Vector 4000 type antenna. Replaced top 3 sections with heaver tubeing from DX Enginnering. Got fence top rail (cheap) for a mast. When the Santa Ana winds blow down here it bends like a fishing rod. Bounse back every time. The 8g top rail gives with the wind. Good Luck!

I got O.K. reports with a 575 mic on my stock 2950. Got better reports with the $ 26.00 Superstar mic on ebay. Do the radio shack elecret mic elemet mod for the best results!

Even boom box speakers can make a radio come alive. They are cheap at second hand stores and yard sales. Try Sony or Panasonic etc. etc.

I think the HD is dieing on my HP Windows XP machine. So I bit the Bullet and bought a new Dell laptop from Costco running Windows 8.1. I really like it because it is like my Android phone. Besides MS is not going to support XP any longer. Support for Windows 7 is supposed to go away next...

Ground wire to door jam works. If you have a bar across the back of the cab/sleeper clamp antenna there. Run the coax down the back to the bottom then through the passenger door. Feed it through there. Be careful not to crimp it. Depending on the install. You may have to run it up the...
