Ok, over the holiday I was able to take the head off a D104 mod (W2EY) I had. I tacked in the 10 k resistor on a failing mic swapped heads and bomb I got my swing and TX back. Canada was wide open skipping in to AZ yesterday. I guess I must replace 2 elements. I dont know what would be a good...

I got a few 5pin Washington's. I always had great radio checks with The D-104's On ssb got great checks saying right on freq.

Cool, I just tested my mic at work. Looks dead. On the scope and my 6 1/2 digit meter. I guess they could be dead. Wish I had a stock hand held. I wouldn't know how to get the right one for my radio. I know I am lame with radio gear

I've used my Xcelite for about 20 years. I gave a sniff no cheese noticed. Smelled a bit more like Puss# Yes maybe I used for more than electronics...:) I do love my WHIA the most. A bit pricey however you can get them half price if you look for offers.
