Hope i dont sound rude ....but am not that good with English which is my main language (read only language):lol::lol:
PS when the kids text me i have to google it:confused1:
Will have one helluva wind-load.............the bottom 14 feet of radiator will be 2 inch or 50mm the rest is 1.5 inch or 40mm..... both with i guess 1.5mm to 2mm wall,..........good quality with a good springiness in it
PS WTF is Bodgulation? is it American again?
well the $200+ was a gestamate but as i got quoted $334
shipping for a mako shooting star to the UK, so i maybe think $200+ for the 5/8
I cut and past some of my research here but most of i can not find as i did not save it
The best i did find a guy that model d 5/8 ground plains and...
No will be made an a temp 30 feet mast
I don't quiet know what you mean
Shipping to the UK $200+
>>>That dog don't hunt<<< is that American?? please explain
made the prototype (read quick and dirty bodge) 5/8 wave + three 5/8 wire radials on my house with SWR of top of my...
Hay BM
i know how the sigma 2 works.............
the early sigma2 is not dc short, your braid connects to the radials and the center conducter connects to the bottom of the hoop, the bolts that hold the hoop screw into two aluminum slugs that form a capacitor across the hoop about 47pf, later...
Hi BM
yes you may be correct as i can not see a tap on the ring but if you look here Avanti AV-170 "Sigma 5/8" / "Sigma II"
they say it is for matching, and the antenna is tuned by adjusting the length..... so maybe the tap is fixed inside the insulator ... i dont know
Hi all
i have almost got all the stuff needed for my next antenna(apart from time) and almost got my head around the 4nec2 Antenna simulation software
The antennas is going to be 5/8 wave aluminium with 5/8 wave wire ground planes swept down at 30 degrees (from vertical) with a feed point...
I have just remember chatting to a guy when i 1st get into CB who had a friend with three 1/2 wave silver rods set up at a set distances apart and could co phase any 2 at a time.... i cannot work out how the switching was dun in my head but it will give you a gain in any direction you...
Ok so if say my antennae has poor ground and the added capacitance of my hand improves the SWR why has my hand have less of a affect on SWR when the ground is good??
Back in the day.... (15 to 30 years ago.......jeeezz i just feel old) i used fit mobile set-ups almost weekly on tractors etc...
>>>>I did learn tonight if I place my Wilson 1000 next to the 102 it drops the SWR's by about .5<<<<
If this is the case i will say the ground plane is not big enough/or poor contact, i have not put another antenna but my hand close to the radiator to see the the SWR go down.
Seen this at...
11 The world shortest (less than 7”) horizontal and vertical.
very handy to use as dummy load
13 The worlds strongest and most durable antenna product.
As proved by NASA ......used to support shuttle on take off
You missed 2
I CANNOT GET MY BREATHE
errr i don't know what to say.......................maybe .....can only happen in the USA......maybe not, i know many in the UK telling me how good the a99 was with 9.9db gain!!!!!
BUT if i was going to have antenna art on my land rover....... maybe a 5 feet sigma 4
will look cool
index
i not remember the name of some as i didn't have to, as they always in same place
