11 meter is very quiet?

I talked to a few guys in Windsor, Ontario and a bunch in Michigan this morning before 8AM on 38 LSB. It wasn't too busy at that time so I switched to channel 20 Am. The guys in Chicago got a little upset at the fact I was doing 30+ and walking the locals up there.....but that's Mother Nature....Trainman steppin'

Rick,
Where did you purchase that hub? I’ve looked everywhere for one.
I plan on using a 102” steel whip for the vertical and three 4’ tunable Firestiks for the radials. My pole isn’t tall enough for 102” radials.

Thanks,
Jim

Someone asked me the same question a little while ago on an M-400 Starduster thread here on WWDX. To help our colleague out, I did a little looking through a few years worth of receipts and found that the vendor I bought it from was Eagle1.com. My receipt refers to the hub as the "Workman 6 hub." The problem is that the business doesn't appear to still be around. If you can find one, the hub is threaded to screw right onto your plumbing pipe.

I've looked on E-bay and several dedicated amateur radio sites hoping to find more of these, but I haven't had any luck. If you check with some of our colleagues on the M-400 Starduster thread, maybe someone there had some success.

Good luck.

Found one! Off an old Starduster. Got it from a local. :D
Added a stud mount. Ready to go.

Hold on. . .
Another fella is now the proud owner of it.
You know what they say. Sometimes it’s better to give than receive. ;)
