11 meter is very quiet?

Well, Today was a nice day and I decided to work on my 5 Element beam. I re-assembled it and put it up on a pole stuck in the ground so I could match the thing up (only 10 feet in the air). The only thing is when I have it pointed north, it is at the house and a tree. All other directions are clear with no obstacles in the way. I put a new gamma match on it and decided to match it up. I got a pretty good match on this 26 foot long antenna. Decided to try it out, as I had a bit of skip coming into the Bam, ALL NORTHERN SKIP from the keystone. I thought, man, of course it had to be from THAT direction where I would have to point it at the friggin house. Any rate, I was able to make contact with 136 in the keystone. He said I was throwing a 3 on him. Guess that isn't too bad running a stock RCI 2950 with a D-104 and NO BOX. Just waiting to order some rotor cable off eBay when I get some extra monies and I can then take that beam into the back yard and mount it on my 20 foot tower with nothing around it in any direction. Im just hoping my match doesn't go up from what it is now once it is up a little higher.

It is 8PM here in Central NY and I can receive a lot of DX on 38 lsb but this barefoot 980 just cannot make the trip. Next week I should have my Stryker 955 and maybe things will change.

Well......I'll hook up my new 980 tomorrow, then the LD 450 to it. We will see.

Gave one to friend. He is impressed with the 980 barefoot. I had a chance tonight to listen to his. We were getting some in. The fine/ coarse clarifier is nice.

My 980 and linear will be tested off base with antenna 37 feet. Then it's going back in box until installed in truck.

The 2970N2 has not been out of it's box yet. That will stay as base.

The peak of my roof is twenty-feet from the ground and top of the MAX 2000 is just about thirty-six above the peak of the roof.
