11 meter is very quiet?

I heard you on 35USB today JJ! At decent strength too.... Unfortunately my ears were totally plugged by a couple of single digit IQ folks with a hate on for sidebanders. Too bad; conditions were really good today.

Had short QSOs with WDX945 ( GregT) and WDX1863 American Eagle (Steve) on 35 USB around 2:30 EST today. Pretty rough conditions but they both managed to punch through the QRM. I hope I did the same on their end. Happy new year and 73 guys.

I heard you in there JJ while I was driving around town today, you had a booming signal for sure, but my Q6Pro couldn't quite do it by itself. Eventually I would like to get an 8 pill to help it out. In the meantime, we will keep trying.

It was Ruff & Tumble this morning when I seen my neighbor take his dog for a walk so I thought I'd try to squeeze out a contact with my 2547. I managed to get heard in the pile up but I could barely hear the come back. That was good enough for me, so I put my Carpenter pants on and let the radio Run baby run.

Ok. I have a question, I'm not wanting to start any arguments...
But what is the purpose of radio check-ins 36LSB had people yesterday and today doing check-ins. Then of course I heard people complain about it or people complaining about the people complaining about it...haha.

Just curious.

That must have been the Hog Town Radio Roundup. I guess it's neat to make contact and get put in their log. The first time I checked in, I thought it was going to be a round table discussion where each person gets to put their two cents in. Sadly it's not.

Yes that's what it is. I check in every week there on channel 36. It's all just for fun................

We had a local check in here every Sunday night on 40 LSB for many years, and it was still going as recently as last year. Not sure if it stopped happening or if I'm no longer hearing the net control for some reason.
The local ones are a good exercise in that it gives you an idea of who you can and cannot hear & communicate with if there is some local or regional emergency situation such as an earthquake or storm.

I talked to WDX226, Rod for a short QSO around 7:30 this evening, but then he just disappeared. I kept calling, and then 175 Bob out of Palm Beach chimed in and said he lost him too. 175 and I talked for a good 30 minutes about all sort of things. After signing off, I keyed up and apologized for ratchet- jawing and tieing up the channel. Several persons keyed up and responded, "No Problem. It was an interesting discussion." A pleasant surprise !!
