Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

Just got my n2 up and working 5 min ago , 50 watts on sb , turned it down to 25 snd made 2 contacts . The hand mic works good for what it is , I love the rx way nicer than the 6666 . That's all I know about the radio so fare
Still on the phone and trying to do this is hard on the eyes and befor some one has a pup far is not spelled fare . Will post more as I learn more .
From most every source reporting on these, they're dead nuts on like all other anytones. From experience currently owning a few of the anytone flavors including the original 5555N, all of mine have been ready to talk after conversion.

I would imagine that this beast would be no different.

OK........inquiring minds want to know. How is the AM performance? Will it have that BIG radio sound?(See avatar for the reason I'm asking) Ease of operation mobile? Is it truly basically a Stryker 955 without the bling? I am accustomed to running menu driven radios, ie. 6666, quad5. Was never really happy with the controls on my 955! Too many knobs stuffed into too small an area IMHO!
It's a shame Qixiang doesn't put the 60 channel programming feature from the 5555 on their other radios!

I think for the car this radio is not bad, size is 100% bigger then Anytone 6666, I think same as striker 955 hp and for sure easier to operate 5555 then 6666. Dont have enough experience with Am but so far nobody toled me that I have any issues the way radio sounds. I made contact from South California to Arkansas from my 102" wip (with the skip). FM I was told Is not the best but I didnt confirm that by my self because I have only one radio. For the price and performance so far I am very Happy.

i found this, which shows it now has the programming jack in the back unlike the current 5555n. The frequency range seems to be the same, however I can’t find anything on how to mod.

The mod is simple & easy for 5555N11 version, Small black connector on pin 1&2 move to 2&3 then clip small white wire beside Black connector then radio is on CB bands and wide open use Software to make any changes you might want to..Got this from Anytone after fighting for over a week with them and software is easy with cable that comes with radio. Black connector at right front of radio speaker side of circuit board

So the question is, which seller did you buy from. Of the 2 sellers on Amazon, one of them doesn't give you the cable. I purchase before from luckyproduct and got the cable, but another member here bought from possibly a different seller on Amazon and had to get the cable separately.

Well I have had my N2 for some time now and I have two things that I dont like. The adjacent channel rejection is not as good as the 6666 or any other radio I have had . And I,m having no luck getting the weather station installed all I get is ERROR when I try , other than that I love the radio .

that is strange, are you doing quick one time menu press and then mode button?.

Awe man, after all the good that's been said about this radio and now the bad is coming out. Please say it isn't so, I'm personally wanting to own one but maybe should wait for them to get bugs worked out.

It was really looking like this one is more refined than the 955v2 cousin.

what's wrong with the radios, so far mine kicks ass, shooting skip all over the world. No one said anything that my radio sounds bad, actually most people telling me that it sounds very good in SSB.
