Anytone At-6666 Pro

If it gets too dumb just maybe it's time to start looking at the ic-7300 instead.
This is exactly where my thoughts are too. I've been considering the 7300 for a while, but it is a major investment and I'm far from wealthy, so I've been holding off.

If the new 6666 pro is affordable (meaning under $500 Canadian) I may get one to replace the old version in my SUV. The old one would then go into my sons F150 truck......

Unfortunately, I have a bad feeling this new Anytone radio is going to be priced out of reach, especially up here in Canada.

Yeah hopeful they don't get ridiculous with the price because that may put many past the threshold. If it gets too dumb just maybe it's time to start looking at the ic-7300 instead.

With the new Rangers you have to damn near take out a mortgage :ROFLMAO:
A local supplier has confirmed sell pricing of only slightly higher than the original. You can safely ignore the crazy placeholder pricing some EU websites posted (who didn't have radios to sell at the time).

If this one doesn't have the ability to dim the display I won't be interested. The 6666 is much too bright for night driving in a rural area.
Would be really nice if the receive audio could be improved too....6666 is really harsh sounding especially on sideband.
Backlight dimming has 5 levels.
RX is 100% new. NRC and AGC control. Smooth as butter.

Hopefully, it's not over priced because then I will be out.

Saw in the menu it had NPC and 3K/4K. 105 watts SSB. I hope it has better heat management than the original. I would have to turn a fan on the heatsink during AM round tables. Was using mine as a base radio.
FM Dev is 2K/4K and the heat sink is exactly the same as the 6666 and yeah, it does 104 PEP.

The 6666 Pro is going to displace the 6666 that is now in my vehicle, cuz it's mobetta!

Yes they are. I didn't intend to conflate them.... If I get a 7300 it would be to replace my ancient Kenwood TS140S that's one of my base radios. The new 6666 will be for my mobile....
I can afford one, but not both.........and the 6666 pro is likely to be the one I spring for so long as the price isn't outrageous.

I don't know what they will cost, but everything I see that is branded Anytone or Radioddity, is as competitive as it gets. The pricing is like free to me, when comparing what I had to pay for radios in the 70's. It's insane what you get for the buck these days.

With the amount of power the Pro 6666 is rated at, I wonder if they are going to be using a different MOSFET instead of the 510/520 1x2x2.
