Did all that testing with his "box" on. The best the rig sounded was the very last recording with his box off.
What does that say about the box he's using? I'm curious as to why it says Mikes radio repair with the words Hi-Fi above it. To my knowledge Mike doesn't do Hi Fi direct injected, mmm modifications. He will to my knowledge work on radios that already have Been direct injected or have had an mmm added to a transceiver already. But as far as installing any of those devices I've never seen a single video in which he has done that work. On the contrary, he often comments about making a stock radio sound as well as it can when it came out of the box without all that Voodoo shit added to it. I always imagined him to be kind of a purist when it comes to fucking with those injected mmm types of modifications, and is not totally against them, but has mentioned quite a few of his videos how he is more of a purist and most transceivers don't need to be direct-injected excetera excetera excetera in order to sound good. I could be wrong. I'm only human. in actuality the radio sounded fairly decent when he shut off his box. I think there is a big clue in the video to his apparent audio issues. It's probably some class C piece of shit that's being over driven. He doesn't mentioned what type of box he is using during all those microphone changes. He also doesn't mention what his driving this box with. Is he driving it with 40 Watts pep and they 2 watt dead key? Yeah! There's a lot missing in order to come to a conclusion on why that radio sounded so poorly. But as I mentioned and I'm sure everyone else who watched it noticed it sounded fairly decent with the final microphone used and the Box turned off. It would have been interesting to hear how the radio sounded with each microphone he went through which I believe was approximately four or five different ones without the Box in the on position. I would venture to say the results would have been quite different (for the better in my opinion.) 73's
