Was it a Northstar engine?Yeah, I've not heard of him, or done business with him. And, there's lots of folks, good businessmen and scoundrels alike, that I've never heard of, lol.
The guy that rebuilt my Cadillac engine was well established, and as I said, had great ratings and all that. But, I still got shafted.
Give it a few days, see if anyone here has actually done business with them, and proceed accordingly, I suppose. It might be, too, that someone may have a better alternative, I don't know.
I will say, though, that I can understand the "no return" policy, if it it would make me uncomfortable.

Anyone know what sort of plug is connected to the back of these amps? Or are they bare 8 AWG?
Sounds like an awesome upgrade.Just skinny bare wires. A nice mod or up-grade for a Texas Star amp is to ditch their whimpy factory wire for something better. With a 500v it has a goofy dual 30 amp fuse deal on the back. I have seen some where some remove the skinny wire and bypass that goofy fuse setup. They run nice #8 fine multi strand wire from the board out the back and add a 60 or 70 amp in-line blade fuse holder. Then add the Anderson connector after that and your all set.
Done my due diligence and I feel the Texas Star dx500 or v model will suit my setup consisting of the 955hpc.
My question is where do folks on here buy from? I was going to by from an eBay seller 7eighteen electronics, apparently their a brick and mortar store in NY for over 20 years, issue is according to them amps dont have warranties. Was hoping to at least have a DOA warranty. Anyone heard of them?
Cheers
I have purchased 4 Texas Star 500V amplifiers from these folks. They come ready to connect to your radio.
I also upgraded the power wires to Marine grade 8 gauge cable, installed an inline Maxi-Fuse holder and use a 60 amp Maxi fuse. Also installed a 75 amp Anderson Power Pole connector.
