Texas has declared state of emergency due to Corona. Every major city in the state has reports of Corona.

Right up the road, Yoakum has reported case. On the 9th he ate at Mex food place in Yoakum. On the 11th he was at The Sunken Garden in Shinner.

Damn........there goes Shinner, and the Shinner Bock.

President has declared Nat Emergency.

Without fail Pelosi had to put her 2 cents in with a BIG smile and a gleam in her eye. Disgusting, what an Evil woman.

I'm not too concerned about water. I have a pretty good amount stored, and it rains a lot here. So even if the public water supply were interrupted or contaminated (both of which have happened here in the past), I would still have water. I have several water filters, and you can disinfect water with bleach:

  • Disinfect water using household bleach, if you can’t boil water. Only use regular, unscented chlorine bleach products that are suitable for disinfection and sanitization as indicated on the label. The label may say that the active ingredient contains 6 or 8.25% of sodium hypochlorite. Do not use scented, color safe, or bleaches with added cleaners. If water is cloudy, let it settle and filter it through a clean cloth, paper towel, or coffee filter.
    • Locate a clean dropper from your medicine cabinet or emergency supply kit.
    • Locate a fresh liquid chlorine bleach or liquid chlorine bleach that is stored at room temperatures for less than one year.
    • Use the table below as a guide to decide the amount of bleach you should add to the water, for example, 8 drops of 6% bleach, or 6 drops of 8.25% bleach, to each gallon of water. Double the amount of bleach if the water is cloudy, colored, or very cold.
      containers.png
    • Stir and let stand for 30 minutes. The water should have a slight chlorine odor. If it doesn’t, repeat the dosage and let stand for another 15 minutes before use.
    • If the chlorine taste is too strong, pour the water from one clean container to another and let it stand for a few hours before use.
Volume of Water Amount of 6% Bleach to Add* Amount of 8.25% Bleach to Add*
1 quart/liter 2 drops 2 drops
1 gallon 8 drops 6 drops
2 gallons 16 drops (1/4 tsp) 12 drops (1/8 teaspoon)
4 gallons 1/3 teaspoon 1/4 teaspoon
8 gallons 2/3 teaspoon 1/2 teaspoon
*Bleach may contain 6 or 8.25% sodium hypochlorite.

Treated water with bleach at our hunting camp for years. 1 capful to 5 gallons. The chlorine will offgas in a couple days, which also gives time for any sediment to settle.

Have to remember it doesn’t kill everything. We were mostly worried about giardia, which it is effective on.

Well, gotta take a shower before I go to the communicatable disease center, Walmart. Plan on a quick hit and run for a gas can, if there is any, through automotive section.

Then for gas. Come home and wash my hands for at least 20 seconds before I take another decon shower. Then spray shower with bleach to kill the germs and rotten foot crusties.

Military restricting annual leave and travel. All PCS moves on hold.

Military moves kind of suck already...I imagine more than a few folks have their household goods already shipped, and are now sitting on a milk crate watching a TV from rent-a-center.

Repost this everywhere...Price Gouging SOB...Good for Amazon and eBay for removing his adds.
Capitalism at its finest, to quote the movie Robots "See a need, fill a need." Unfortunately human nature tends to remove social norms when a crisis hits. The most ironic thing would be if this guy got the Wuhan Flu even with all the stuff he horded in order to gouge. I would expect to see on the news stories of tractor trailers full of toilet paper getting hijacked as soon as packs of looters take control of urban areas. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Be ready for anything.

Looks good no him. He claims "he was simply fixing “inefficiencies in the marketplace.” Some areas of the country need these products more than others, and he’s helping send the supply toward the demand." Well the problem with that is that there would be no shortage if it weren't for MF's like him in the first place. I'm all for making a decent living but this is just capitalizing on other's hardships which IMHO is just wrong. It's crazy up here too. Toilet paper and hand sanitizer and wipes are almost nonexistent. I heard yesterday too that there was a line of people at Cabelas waiting to buy ammunition too, something previously unheard of up here. I told the wife this shit is just beginning and will only spread to even more goods before it is over. We have a decent supply of TP on hand now but she went to pick up another pack last night and all three stores were sold out of it as well as anything related to sanitizing. Today is my last day then I have four days off. Tomorrow I might take advantage of the low fuel price and fill up my gas cans and pick up a few extra items at the store just to have on hand. I am not going crazy stocking up on stuff however and we already have a good supply of foodstuffs which is the norm for us anyway.

I work at WallyWorld. First there was a limit of 1 case of water. Then they took the limit off and bam. All gone within like 20 mins. I bought no water yet and only 1 pack of TP for family of the 5 of us (3 are kids). Ex-wife bought 1 pack of TP as well day after me. That's it.

I almost got in trouble for saying "this store" is crazy as a customer got offended and ran up front to tell a CSM about my attitude of that small statement. After she went on rant how I must be single and have no family to care for. Had to bite my tounge. Explained I had family of 5 in house. And she still went up front. Gladly gave her my name. IDGAF.

I figure if it's my time I can't stop it. And really I don't care about the whole thing. And some of these people shopping are nuts.

maybe because I'm a "salty dog" vet that's turning 50 this year. LoL

This was the pasta isle. (I work grocery as a DM). I thought the Italians had a party. Lol. I had just stocked it with what we had which is that little bit you see on the middle shelves in BLUE boxes.
