If your an asshole to me , you get it the same way back. Ive got hams that are on 38 LSB and try to drop the ham knowledge..It's funny really....When I get my Willy Wonka golden ticket this summer, I think I'm gonna have a great time pissing off all the assholes
Be careful if you really do piss some of them off, They might give your antenna the pavement drag tune up. Or worse yet hand your tail over to the FCC with voice recording with date and time stamp and field strength recordings. Forfeit your gear and get a big fine to boot.

Just a friendly reminder that taking a whizz in somebody's oatmeal will have consequences..

I've heard a lot of talk about dragging antennas down but when everyone sobers up it never happens. Getting your antenna pulled down is much more likely than the FCC doing anything about. A cber in town got a call from the FCC a few years ago. It turned out to be a ham that called him up and tried to scare him. I think he mowed grass for someone that worked at the local FCC office and felt entitled.

Well said.
The FCC don't call anyone.
If you start enough shit to get them to do anything it starts with a NOAL in the Mail.
If you Really Really piss them off a couple of field agents will show up at your door to personally hand you a NOAL.
But please be aware that it really takes a act of god to pry there butts off of the desk and get them to do anything.
I have been involved in enforcement actions.
Take my advice.

It is not worth going to court after you get charged with trespass and destruction of private property when you get caught on camera trying to pull some ones antenna down.
The Judge don't give a shit about your radio problems, he is gonna fine you and make you pay, and do community service picking up garbage on the interstate.
Next.
Only in Extreme cases is it worth going to the FCC to really get anything done and you had better be prepared to put your heart and soul onto it for the long haul.
Really.

Move off frequency.
Don't listen to it.
Be glad that they all hang out on 340.
Or channel 19.

It kind of like driving around in Compton and bitching about bullet holes in your car.
Find some good guys to play radio with and let the Loony Tunes go play in there own sandbox.

You are gonna find ass hats in many things you do in life.
Don't care if it is CB or Ham.
And life is too short to waste time on them.
Just play radio and hang out on the World Wide Radio Forum were everything radio is fun.
Nuff Said.

I have heard many a claim of pulling down an antenna and/or feedline over the years. Best one had "Super Bee's" radio and linear come crashing out of the window and dragging along the street behind the perpetrator's '69 Gremlin.

Can't remember ever taking any of those claims seriously.

Not even sure I'd believe a YT vid of this if someone put it up.

It's always third or fourth person relayed experience. My Ex's fourth cousins uncle or something like that.
But you have to admit there is a lot of craziness out there.

I went to high school with a kid that had a black 69 gremlin with a 350 in it.
It was a awesome ride, he even got it featured in Hot Rod Magazine.
Better yet was Mike Ballards 1963 Ford falcon pickup with a 440 4-barrel shoehorned in it.
Had "Time Warp" pinstriped on the doors......
Life can be fun if your Dad owns a wrecking yard and gas is (was) 68 cents a gallon.

Well said... edit...

Well, I agree that pulling down antennas is pretty much BS, but, I can also tell you that the FCC will respond if the complainer uses the correct words and phrases.

Even the dumazzes on 7200 are starting to behave (somewhat).

A Gremlin with a V8-304.

Now there was a car that would surprise the unwary. Holeshot on a Camaro (“You got beat by WHAT!?”).

Someone knew how to tell a story (where an AMC Gremlin was involved. Successfully).

.
Are you sure it was not a Javelin? Some of those had plenty of attitude.

The FCC will respond if worded properly ......

Don't expect them to come running.

I am telling you I have been involved in enforcement actions.
I have worked with field agents face to face.
We really did have to work for over 2 years with the FCC , local police, sheriffs department, local and state goverment to finally get a resolution to one problem we were dealing with.
Another problem involved a public service ( EMS ) and it still took over a year to resolve that issue.
And to be honest the Fire Department is the one that solved it by purchasing new better equiptment.
The stuff that happens on Ham Radio is nothing.
The effort just for some guys being assholes on the air is wasted when you can just move off frequency and do something else.
Sure they will send out some letters and they might even pull a license or two but don't expect them to run in and confiscate all the equiptment and bull doze the guys house.
There are really more important issues you can spend time on.

Thats all I expect them to do.

why do you keep posting about confiscating equipment/pulling down towers, when you know they are busy with the illegal FM radio stations in New York and Miami?

Lol.
Not sure if that was directed at me but....

Because people keep talking about yanking down antennas and posting that if you just write them a letter they will respond right away.
I simply point out that trying to yank down some ones antenna will just get You in trouble.
And it takes a lot more than one letter to the FCC to get action.
Also I was agreeing with 543 that the FCC don't call you on the phone.
They want a paper trail.
A lot of stories float around the internet about the FCC breaking down doors and taking equiptment or stopping drivers at DOT weight stations and taking there radios.
Don't work that way.
