Magnum - something in the works?

I haven't talked to Sam in a while and so I don't know what's in the works but I did notice over the last couple of months that Magnum257HP's have virtually dried up and a number of their other radios are starting to run dry as well. One distributor I know has barely any Magnum radios in stock.

I'm wondering if the supply flow has stopped while they finish putting the changes on something new?

I usually report news but I figured it would be fun to start the rumor mill going.

i thought that there was a production problem but that tey were going to have it resolved and radios out again, it could also be the expantion of the raptor line. having the raptor and the s3 out together is redundant.

the initial 45HPs and 257HPs looked to be better than the s-980 but cost almost half as much . hopefully they wont bring them back too pimped out and priced like the stryker ssb ...... or the s-9 .

I would figure they are doing their own thing, despite what Stryker is doing. You can only chase the market so much. If they listen to people's wish lists for a great rig, maybe they will hit a home run. I have to say that for the money, I really really like my OmegaForce S45HP. It could have some cooler features, but then again, it didn't cost me 500 bucks.

I love being able to hit two buttons and be on one of my favorite channels and mode with the OmegaForce, but I would still like a rig that had channel memory/mode feature with the ability to scan those memory channels.

please build a high power SSB 100 to 200 watt radio with a 6 didget freq counter and a detachable control head like an Icom 706.

In that case, what you want is the Alinco DX-SR8. Great rig, has all the features you want AND has decent AM on the CB band.

jessejames, you must have really had to dig for that... I thought I saw the last of Calvin pissin' on anything back in the 90's.

I doubt Magnum is going under though.

ILL SECOND THAT!!! The Magnum S9 i had was useless on SSB.... What a POS radio. Its mostly aimed at the AMer loud crowd and the truckers....

2 of them that came in to me to 3 hours for the radio's counter to start working!!! 3 hours...
