Mobile Ham operations banned?

That's why I pulled it but won't pull the radio. Hell people have listened to Police scanners for years. You would have thought they would have outlawed those.
Listening is not the issue at hand. Having a conversation with someone is a LOT more distracting than simply listening to a scanner. Believe me, I am against this type of regulations but I also know for a fact that people in general, not all but a large number, tend to get wound up in their conversation and lose their situational awareness. I find it funny how some people will bitch about being cut off in traffic by someone holding a cell phone yet not a microphone, when in fact the effect is exactly the same thing. To me distracted driving is exactly that and it does not matter what the reason is whether it is a phone, two-way radio, reading, eating etc etc etc.

I agree with you but some people are more prone to have their head where it shouldn't be while driving. How many times have you set at a red light in traffic and the light changes and you can't go because the guy in the lead isn't paying attention, and then they wonder why people start honking their horns. I never touch a microphone when in traffic. You should drive a motorcycle in traffic if you want to get aggravated with idiots. I laugh when I get at a 4 way intersection on my bike and someone thinks they are being nice and motions for me to go first. I shake my head no and motion for them to go first so I can control my environment. If I go first for sure they will be right on my butt leaving no reaction time. I learned long ago to pay attention while at the wheel and not be looking around. There is some people I refuse to ride with. End of Rant. LOL

Took a nice hot coffee to the secretary in my local Reps. office and made her smile so we will see how long it takes to get a electronic copy of the new hands free bill as signed. She was aware of the bill I was talking about so that's a good start. The clock is running !

LOL It's all your fault Dude ! LOL I'm looking into this more serious. I'm kind of figuring President shouldn't screw this up as bad as their radios. Just wondering how often you have to recharge the battery in the microphone and how long it takes.
It probably works with the 6666 too. I use the President wireless hand mic with my 6666 all the time.

I'm wondering if it works with the anytone 5555n2 because I haven't ruled that out yet, just been busting my tail to get landscaping done before I loose the spring rain and have to water. Today was the first time I got to mow my new grass all from the seat of my rider. I'm getting too old my legs won't take that push mower much anymore. Thinking about a trip to Bob's CB Shop and that's a 2 day trip for this old fart but that depends on what the VA says next week when I see the Doc.

I was checking out the Anytone 5555 N2 and it looks like that President BT steering wheel mic won't work with it because of the mic config on the radio. But looks like the 6666 has the right config at the radio. More Checking is in order !

This was Signed into Law by our Governor a few days ago,the First year will be warnings only and then after that I believe I heard a $50 dollar fine going forward!!
Here is a link my State Rep's secretary sent me today concerning the matter. Looks like something good for a Philadelphia lawyer. It can also be found on DTB Radio web site as I found it this morning. Have Fun !

I did not read all of that mess but it seems they are defining the offending device as a " handheld communications device" and it looks like there is an exception for licensed radio operators in that document.
It reads very much aimed squarely at cell phones and tablets
CB (as the FCC defines it)
does not require a " individual" license, you are authorised to "operate a radio" by part 95.
Good council could start the argument that FCC recognizes CB as a authorised radio service and my client should be exempt under the same rules that exempt Ham radio.......

They should have also provided a exemption for CB radio when they wrote this bill, would have made sense,I agree with your above post.

Your absolutely right Jeff it is written as a Mess ! The only trouble is it cost a lot of time, money, & stress to hire a Philadelphia Lawyer and this Old Poor Boy doesn't have it. I read some where in the mess that as long as your vehicle was stationary you could use the radio to communicate with a exception for CDL & Ham operators who are Smarter than CB operators. Kind of like it is ok to put up a SPT 500 Super Penetrator for 10 & 12 Meters but not legal for 11 meter. LOL I won't sweat the small stuff, I'll just start using that President BT Wireless Mic when I'm not in heavy traffic and go with the flow. Our Harrisburg Politicians are as bad as the Washington Politicians. You know what they say about messing up a Wet Dream ! LOL
