Base New Imax wont tune 11m....this sucks

I have been trying to find a seller and noboby seems to have any?
As I posted in the other thread about the same thing, It's not difficult. Copper electronics has the whole antenna in stock. If you're trying to find the stand alone section forget it, and buy the following.

The Hillman Group 4375 3/8-24 Coupling Nut Fine Thread (5-Pack) , Zinc https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IAVIZ1W/?tag=worradfor-20

The extra piece called the optimizer maybe good for 10 meters, but not 11 meters. Antenna does not tune good on 27.601...1.5 swr...27.791-1.2 swr....27.991...1.1 swr.
If you add power the swr will be beyond the good range of 1.3-1.5 swr. Without the 12in section the swr is high on all cb channels. I have had this antenna since July and it has been a nightmare for my setup

So what you are saying is you purchased the ProTrucker 10 in replacement whip and it tuned great for the 11 meter band?

And the required coupling nut, yes.
I've put 1000 PEP through it and I think it was a 1.4 SWR? It was 1.2 barefoot I think. I COULD get it lower but I never readjusted the rings. The expansion piece lowered the SWR on its own when I slapped it up to test I had a thats good enough moment and just left it. I never bothered retuning as it works fine. Once I get my ham lic I may retune for more center 11/10.

I had a couple guys tell me to skip the 1 foot add on for the maximizer and use a 102 whip.? I have a Shakespeare 102 fiberglass .. Should I try it? Also debating the ground plane kit? Dous it help at all with receive or lower radiation angle?
Thank You

Theres a lot of threads here on the subject. I THINK it was determined that was a bad idea for some reason or another by people more antenna savy than myself. Don't remember why.

I use a 102 inch whip as the top 1/3rd of my Antron 99. It blew down in a huge windstorm a couple years ago and the top part was shattered. Using the 102 whip was a quick easy solution and it works EXACTLY the same as it did before the storm.... even the SWR is the same. So I would say it's not a problem.....

Ground plane kit will do nothing to help transmit or receive, but it will help eliminate common mode currents if you have those in the shack...

Hi thank you for the response.. Was curious about the GPK.. As far the CMC I have 4 mix 42 ferites under the antenna and. An ugly balum lol just b4 where the coax enters the shack.. Tht seems to be working fine. No more strange interference with my other equipment.. Plus I have ground from the antenna btacket.. And static/lightning arrestor on a swp ground.. Have 4 antennas up.. All have extra ground and static arrestors.. Just curious a out the top side and the GPK..
Thank You again

I purchased one of the last good ones, the original 3 piece antenna with the 8 foot sections, back in 2015.
Never put it up until last year.
Wish I had known at the time that they changed the design, I would have hung onto it.
It was awesome on 10 meters.
