So since we haven't seen any movement of a frequency modification for the 980 yet I'm thinking maybe as a collective the CB community needs to sweeten the pot and maybe someone with the computer/radio skills can crack it. Maybe some Chinese guy who worked on the software can give help us out if we offer a little incentive
Seriously though - if we got 1000 CB'er to donate $10 towards the freeband crack on the Uniden 980 you would think we could get someone to take on the task.
And I'm talking a real solution, not changing out a bunch of stuff to get to .455 while the display still shows .405 I'm talking a software solution.
After messing around with this wireless microphone on the 980 this last week I again was blown away by the performance of the 980 and dismayed at the same time you can't go up a couple of frequencies which would really complete this radio. Uniden could triple their sales of this radio if the mod somehow "slipped" out.
