What's your favorite 'vintage' CB rig?

My favorite Base Station rig is the Uniden Washington because that was the radio my late father operated and the first radio i ever transmitted on when i was five years old. ( 1980 )

The most elegant, beautiful and sharpest radio ever made was the Cobra 2000 GTL. 8)

Favorites I owned back in the 70's-------
Royce 602 mobile
Royce 620 23 channel base
Royce 640-SSB 23 channel side band base

Of course I worked in a radio shop then, where we refurbished Royce radio's ;)

Just bought a brand new Royce 640 base with a D-104 from ebay for $99 still in the boxes.

President Madison.
Cobra 2000

"Mobile:"
Cobra 148 GTL "Made in The Philippines"

These are arguably not the "best" CB radios, they are simply my favorites.

You are wrong. The 2000 and 148 ARE arguably the best CBs ever made!!!

Was really sorry to see Nash Bridges go Don , I thought the drunken lawyer show was great but they canceled it the first season , DUDE !! That Jody Lynn was the bomb dude !! must have been nice while it lasted I bet ! Damned good to see you on the Forum ! Had no idea you were in to cb's ? A Wilson trunk mount would have looked bad ass on the Cuda !! Peace ;)

vintage cb rigs

Still have and use Johnson Messenger 223 with Turner Super Sidekick Mic and Johnson Viking 430 with +2 Transisterized desk Mic. This stuff is in like new condition and works like new.

I liked my first rig, a Midland 13-898B. I still have it stashed away in the basement. There were several of us with them back in the day (1977) and everyone commented about how good they sounded. With a Turner +3B microphone it was smokin'.
