I hold an out of band license with ECOM and some of the frequencies out of band are scaled down to low power even though there is a 500 watt restriction. I want to take the radio from 10-20 watts to 100 watts like on the ham bands. Is there some kind of software modification to lift it from...
I have a AL-82 and run it right to the amp.(rca jack) Should I get a keyer to step down voltage? Seems to be working ok for me. Am I going to run into problems later?
I have an Al-82 and common sense tells me not to defeat the safety switch when playing with high voltages. I think I remember something like that when I took my ham test back in 1992. I may have forgotten a lot of #@%$ but I'll never forget studying about safety! Who wants to end up as a silent key?
I don't own a Buddy Pole but I was talking to a station on 10 meters from the UK and he was giving me a 5/5 with his Buddy Pole. My Imax 2000 and his Buddy Pole was enough to talk for about 10 minutes when the propagation as in there.
I was hoping it would come in agn but no good here on the east coast. Japan was clipping an s-7 on the meter. This reminds me of the 70's. My Imax 2000 at 13 foot pole did the job when it came in. Cool stuff.
I can get 20 meters out of my IMAX on a 14 foot pole. I use a Dentron Super Tuner but it is very narrow when you move off frequency. You have to keep touching it up. I get signals close to the G5RV or about the same. The tip of the IMAX is 25 feet up and the G5RV is 25 feet up. It will tune...
What is happening is M.U.F. which is maximum usable frequency. The MUF hasn't reached up to the 11 meter band.

Ok, I have an Elecraft K3. I can't find the crackling popping noise that is giving me s-9 from 22 mhz to 30 mhz. That is a project in which I'll need to go fox hunting in the neighborhood. But I am glad I have this radio for that reason. I hit the noise blanker and the other filters and can...
Congratulations! I love my K3 and had it for about two years already. I never get tired of it and get great audio reports. Sounds like you have the same stuff. I think I did a little over kill. I have the sub receiver but hardly use it. This radio is great. A few days ago, I talked to Moscow on...
I had mine almost two years and love it. Great receiver. I run it hard with MARS. No complaints here. I am still not tired of it and I'm going to hold onto it for a long time.
