converting a texas star dx 667v to 11

I would say 65 would do it, after all TS calls for max of 58 amps for that amplifier.
i got a maxi type fuse holder for 6 ga and a 60 amp fuse i hope that works, im uprading the power feed to this amp i see stuff i dont like, them fuses in the back are going bye bye and true no 8 going in the amp. Now how do i plug the holes from the lame fuse holders that were in it? the "key plug hole" is going to be a switch for the fans, yes the whole 9 is being done to this amp, its a hybrid 2 mosfets driving 4 2879s the gate keeper says he is very impressed with them his videos are very helpful this stuff is easy omg

watched that dude the gate keeper on youtube this is a hybrid 667 they are a bit different to convert ill see if i got it right when i put it in. I want to put bigger wire and bypass the built in fuses put an inline in it, what would be the amperage 65 amp?
you think a 60 would work? next jump up is 80

hell i own a cnc machine shop if i werent concerned id use my mill and make some fan accommodations in the aluminum heat sinks, i think ill cut a new cover out of aluminum use a sheetmetal brake and make a custom cover aluminum gets rid of heat much better, im in no hurry i want this amp like i want it before i even hook it up

its one of them new hybrids has a mosfet and 4 2879 made buy the new makers uggghh

So please do tell me, how did this conversion work out for you?
I too have just purchased a new one and after reading this post Am worried about the ability to convert it.
All the drawings and directions on the site are still for the pre mosfet builds.

To do the conversion there is a circuit board you need to take out and add a jumper to one of the switches. The circuit board you need to take out is by the relay and the front panel switches. If I remember correctly.

That sounds easier than the previous builds. Thanks. Any good info is helpful.

Yes, it is an old post, but the only thing on converting a 667V. And the original poster wheelman918 had one of the new hybrids at that time and all the information is from 2005 builds.
I have no idea what this new amp is even going to look like inside until I get it.
I have noticed some differences between his picture and the Gatekeepers video though. Like swapping of the centre pot connections to the delay switch.
I should have it by the 18Aug17 and will post up what I find.

Any decent shop will convert it for you as part of the sale. Now if you price shopped and got it from Copper or H & Y then your on your own.

Interesting thread, my DX500v is coming tomorrow, aparantly already modded for use on 11m.
Fingers crossed..

How does yours work?
I got mine today. It came with the conversion done, but it has problems. The relays went chattering when the rec amp was engaged. Disengaged the rec amp. Then on transmit it sounds like class C not AB1 on sideband with the delay engaged. Folks tell me it sounds like the driver mosfets are not working right and it's distorted and tinny.
This Brand New Texas Star DX 667V is a piece of crap. It throws a high SWR as well. Junk!
