    Repeater building question.

Also if you're going to use mobile rx/tx's you should reduce the power out-put of the tx radio because it's tx duty cycles where not rated for repeater use.

Check this out and see what you think !!!

That looks like a lot of fun! I use to take an HT up with me (retired) and a speaker mic and rubber duck worked great. Are you able to use head sets?

ICOM, they have made some really good HF rigs. Their noise blankers have never been good but other than that, great rigs.

    Ham questions for a newbe

It's not very difficult at all with a week or two of studying. About the radio it depends on what freqs. and mode you are looking to operate on. Good luck.

    Health care

What doesn’t seem right to me is the variations in cost. If you get insurance on your own it cost X amount. If you get it at work on a group plan it's less. There's a girl at work that's getting a job with the state, and her premium is free ! It should be the same cost for everyone.

    Yaesu FT-1802

No problem, it could be the heat. We've had about 30 days of 100 or above and today is going to be the 10th day of 105 or above! I've recorded two 109's last week. But it's NOT global warming, it did this in 1999, 1990, 1980 etc......

    Yaesu FT-1802

I was driving to work today with the FT-1802 in the MEM scan mode and noticed that it would resume scanning while there was still a signal (that is a scanning option but I don't have that selected). I stopped the scanning on a 2m repeater to listen to the QSO in progress and all of a sudden it...

    WEATHER

There are pro's and con's of 6M. One of the pro's is the antenna. The perfect dipole would be 4.6 ft per side. It's small size makes it easy to work with. Another pro is that you don't need much power for E or F skip, 10 watts will do unless your tring to break some world record or something...

    Makes me wonder...

I would loovvveeee to have the SAT model, but not going to happen. Got work to do on the house this year. To many radio hobbyist put to much into on what their "meter" is doing. That usually leads to having the mic gain up to high so they can watch the meter move way over to the right while...

    Analog TV is OFF (almost)

Very interesting C2 ! I think the Gov. has made a big mistake going digital. We had a bad t-storm with possible tornadoes in the area and we were watching minute to minute up-dates when guess what happen to the digital signal....... That's right, gone. As you guys know digital is ether on or...
