Yes, i have a base SSB station, mobile 10 meter export AM/FM, a 2 transistor amp, a few noise toys, a base station antenna.....only thing is I am leery of trades via internet. In person I'm all for it. That's why I am selling it off now.

How does one verify the new version vs. the old? Is there any type of serial number or something to distinguish it by? I apparently have the old version, as I had to do the carrier mod to drop it from 8 watts down to 3, on a dummy load. I also do not have the noise blanker or auto noise limiter...

Correct, it doesn't take much power, though the band has to be really open. I've worked people 1000 miles away on a 4 watt CB with a Wilson 1000 on top of the roof of my pickup.

I agree fourstringburn.....and while this radio seems to work ok (on AM, haven't tried SSB yet) why anyone would do this is beyond me. I plan to fix it as I like the radio, just not how it was butchered. I've noticed the receive on AM is quiet compared to SSB or FM....has me wondering if that's...

Most of the time it's either Wal Mart or Sams Club who can be found on 154.570 and 154.600. The few stores I have enountered, don't use PL tones, thus a cheap Baofeng UV-5R will transmit on frequency with them. Great if you want to piss them off with a "I need a clean up on aisle 3 please"...
