11 meter is very quiet?

Got online late yesterday. I was cutting some boards on my table saw, when we had a momentary power outage. The saw motor stopped and then came right back on. Kicked the board and the guard up, knocked me back, and my hand hit the saw blade. Cut my thumb pretty deep but missed the bone and tendons. spent the afternoon in the hospital getting it sewed up. Lucky it wasn't worse. Could've taken my whole hand. Even when you're careful, sh*t happens.

Wow JJ, glad you can keep all your digits. My neighbor was not so lucky. Lost two fingers on a table saw...

You must have some guardian angels there JJ!! Many years ago a friend lost all four fingers on his left hand in a very very similar situation. Only difference was he was using a bandsaw not a table saw when the power surge happened.
Thank goodness you only needed a few stitches!

I was on from 5:30 to 7:00 and had the best conditions I've had in a while. One of my first contacts was @UDX-483 here on the forum. He was booming in, easily making it over the pile. It finally started fading around 7:00. Then I started moving through the frequencies and stopped on 27.515 and listened to several stations in Jamaica playing a game regarding Jamaican history.
"What genre of music was created in Jamaica?"
I had such a hard time not jumping in and answering some of these!! :ROFLMAO:

Doc said I was lucky it just missed the bone. No tendon or ligament damage. He said i might not ever have any feeling in the tip of my thumb. He said about a month to heal.

I just got back from the hospital myself. The VA sent me for a Xray and ultra sound of my R/H leg to make sure I didn't have a blood clot in it because my cafe is swollen from a fall on the ice about 2 weeks ago. ( just inflammation from water on the knee ) so I guess we will be healing together. LOL Another excuse to spend more time on the radio ! LOL

The band is wide open here and above 35 lsb there's plenty to work with. I'll be on and off throughout the day so maybe we can have a dx run in.

DX was great today in west Texas. I was busy with other stuff but every time I walked by the radio room it was booming. So I would stop every so often and join in. My furthest contact was Belfast Northern Ireland and closest was Houston Tx.

Did you have time to get you some DX today?
