11 meter is very quiet?

I was on for an hour today, (3 to 4ish) and conditions were very strange. Lots of stations were coming in and out quick initially, then I would here only two or three stations and nothing else. I did have a qso with @Shadetree Mechanic . You were booming in for the first two minutes, then it was iffy. Thanks for the qso, my friend!!!
Thanks for the contact Rodney, it seems conditions were swirling around. Strange for sure, always great to talk to forum members. Until we can do it again, stay safe, and have fun.

I was on 37& 38 LSB and could hear activity but couldn't seen to make a contact. I haven't seemed to have made a contact lately but I will admit I probably don't put enough effort into it because of too many things on the plate. Mother nature has been keeping us busy here but it looks like it is starting to break. Next comes Tax time and Doctor visit trips & settling family matters. No Rest for the Wicked. LOL

Is this the first time being on air and experience a radio black-out? Pretty weird, isn't it? I have experienced a few of them and it almost feels like the end of the world as solid S9++ signals fade out completely leaving a dead band within just a few minutes.
back in early 70s i was in the northwest . was sleepy thinking time to park for night. seen northern lights for first time and half hour later banter on cb 19 just died. i parked n thought radio died. crawled in bed n laid down. radio came to live quick n loud. woke me up a bit

I made a very, very brief contact to Denmark on 27495 USB this morning. Then an hour later I made my first across an ocean FM contact to 030 in Ireland on 26.805 FM. So that was two new ones for me. And this was from my semi using a Stryker 955 and a beat up Firestik! Lots of northeast US and west coast lately for me.

Finally hooked up with American Eagle WDX1863 Steve today. Not the best of conditions but still a nice, although short, QSO. Tons of stations out there but you were managing to punch thru all the QRM. How was my signal up there today ??
Was I making a good trip or were you just able to hear me ??
It was BIG DOGS DAY, especially after 6PM EST. 1775 Illinois, 108 Badlands of TX, 777 Arizona were ruling the airways.
Anyway it was great to talk to you, Steve. We will do it again soon. 73 my friend.

that day i talked to unit 399 he sounded choice.
didnt get any radioig in. arrived at my unload point 1 minute early under scedual to end waiting. didnt work.was our neighbor who loaded 1 for us at his time and parked in the lot.was 4 in front of us n we were stuck there till noon putting us wat behind. got home late n no skip talking.

Got online late yesterday. I was cutting some boards on my table saw, when we had a momentary power outage. The saw motor stopped and then came right back on. Kicked the board and the guard up, knocked me back, and my hand hit the saw blade. Cut my thumb pretty deep but missed the bone and tendons. spent the afternoon in the hospital getting it sewed up. Lucky it wasn't worse. Could've taken my whole hand. Even when you're careful, sh*t happens.
