11 meter is very quiet?

FINALLY received my climbing gear and struggled up to the top of my tower today. Connected a dummy load to the choke and had Luz key up the base and check SWR. As close to 1:1 as you can get. So coax and choke ok. BUT... I notice a small tear in the coax sheath close to the PL-259. found a little water inside, but only on the shield and not in the core. Clipped the bad section off and installed a new PL-259.
When I checked out the antenna, I found that the little box on the bottom of the driven element with the SO-239 was half full of water. Everything inside was rusted. Removed the box, climbed down and cleaned the box good iinside. Installed a new SO-239. Put strain reliefs on the two element wires and soldered them in place. Bolted the cover on and sealed up any possible water entry holes. Drilled several drain holes in the bottom of the box just to be sure.
Got down on solid ground and turned the base on. Heard 322 Texas, and we qso'd for 10 minutes or so until the DX faded out at around 8PM.
Glad to be back. It was a long 3 months.
I will be on 37LSB at about 8AM or so tomorrow. Hope to hook up with you guys again. 73.

If that was me there would be a Brown Streak coming out of the sky ! LOL

Yeah I was already checking them out at Copper Electronics and from Scott's radios. Probably will pick another one up. I have other amps but I really like the 203 especially for mobile use with my old Uniden Grant or 980.
newwegg has a 2 for less deal. i got mine from new egg n right after i bought it that deal came up. 2 years now n still active deal. as for my rm italy ,works great in my pickup

Yeah that is a good price ! I don't blame you for grabbing them. I would but I have a KL-300 P setting around not being used so I better control myself because I spent too much on radios and gear the last couple years. I'd love to get one of those Anytone AT6666 Pro but I'm Wrestling with myself and telling myself to exploit what I have. Too many things need time in my Wallet. LOL
shhh just write the check.tarriffs rising plus you know you want n need em. it will be ok.
im just looking out for your future in radioing lol

LOL don't worry I WRESTLE with the tariffs rising thought also. Pretty soon the poor guy won't be able to afford anything, then people will be stealing you blind. I'm sure glad I have a garage full of tools so I can fix my junk. Which keeps me busy now. LOL

You know you might have a good idea about using USB as a meeting place for wwdx members to avoid some of the clowns or at least Thin The Heard ! LOL The bad weather isn't suppose to start until latter today so if I'm out & about I'll try 35 usb. I have a serious VA doctor appointment tomorrow morning & their talking possible Ice which I might have to cancel. GRRRRRRRRR !
