Anytone AT-6666 Replacement Electret Microphone

I have Lincoln 2+ that comes with the DNC 520 stock microphone. After using this microphone for about six weeks, it is a good sounding microphone....but.

This is what I have found about the puff/pop noise. Microphone facing your voice, and not talking sideways across the mic. If the top of the mic is slightly angled toward your voice, then the pops/puffs are bad. If the bottom of the mic is angled slightly towards your voice, then the mic works better at least for me.

Just bought a 6666 from 88 radio, wondering if the sock on stock mic is still the best setup. Anybody try one with a d104m6b?

Wide open, almost! SRA-198 mic and the radio has "stuff" done to it's innards! Fleabay seller said N/C for the "Magic NM Pixie Dust"!
I have no way of confirming that, but the radio kicks ass!

32 on the mic gain with stock mic

I am using an Adafruit modified, Anytone powered (from the Mike jack) Drake branded Astatic 987L. Mic gain on “31” heavily resistored down audio from the Adafruit module.


It works quite well.

I'm not that bad yet though my Wife thinks that number is higher. Once my Kenwood is out of rehab, I may kick start the collection effort up again.

I'm up to 23 and thought I was becoming a heavy addict. Now you made me feel better about my addiction so will carry on adding to it. They say the sky is the limit but in my case it'll be my wallet haha
