Here is a Gun Grabber Bill in Oregon that is up for vote. Notice in the proposed new laws the restrictiveness which would make defending yourself, neighbors, or loved ones a criminal offence. Even more interesting is the reference to "public buildings" which is so ambiguous that being near said would make you a felon. It goes further to explain that if your weapon is stolen and is used in criminal activity the actual owner is liable.

Also the furor over personal access to assault weapons is still less than the military you would be going against. The civilian populace would only amount to target practice for the armed forces of the US. Untrained and undisciplined targets.

That is exactly what the British thought in 1776.

I'm not saying things would be the same, but when you are fighting for your survival and have nothing left to lose, your mindset changes and you will do anything to protect what you hold dear.

We don't even have to go that far back to see what I'm talking about. Just look at what happened in Vietnam. We lost that war for a lot of reasons, but the determination of the populace was a large part of it.

Then there would be the willingness (or lack thereof) for the soldiers to fire upon the citizenry of this country. I tend to think that would be an order that most of them would ignore.

It would definitely get ugly before it got better.

True enough, their supply line was called the Ho Chi Min trail. Which started in China and went all the way down. They should have pushed it back then before all of their weapons got so advanced.
