    Bearcat BCD996XT

I have the older model Uniden BCD996D and love it. It took a while to rethink how to program it but it does help to get the subscription to radioreference and use the BCtool software to program the memory-- that makes it a piece of cake. I need to sell a few of my older analog models now that I...

    JMR hand held mic?

They're one of THE loudest mics out there-- htf an original. I know there are allot of Chinese knock-offs but nothing beats these microphones. I have an original one with the case. They do run off of a 7V battery however but you can stack a few lithium disc batteries and that would suffice. If...

WTB: Junked Galaxy 88, Virage VR9000, etc.

I actually need a frequency module from one of these older units. Not the real old module but the EPT210011 version with the surface mount components and the 3 visible capacitors in it. Mine is confirmed dead and looking for a replacement for my Mirage 88, any help would be great. I did call...

FS: Clean Uniden Grant XL and TS 350HDV

Selling some of my old CB stuff out of my closet. I have a nice Uniden Grant XL mobile which works excellent, just recently tested. Comes with stock mic, a Cobra CA-7 power mic and power cord. No bracket but has the mounting screws. This rig was virgin new when I bought it and the only person in...

    rci 2950/2970 internal talk back

Do as HotRod suggested... my buddy tried the talkback mod in that thing and it didn't work well at all, just a bunch of howling coming from that thing. I know there's a mod that you can do on the newer DX rigs, but you have to lift a SMD resistor up and add a few transistors in series to keep...

DOES THE RCI 2970DX PERFORM WELL ?

I really miss my old 2970, it was a talker. I talked all over the US in the mobile on that thing. The family took a trip to Mt. Rushmore a few years ago and that thing was a chatterbox all on the east coast. I got many a good report on that thing. You won't go wrong with that rig!

    RCI-2950DX II

I've owned a few in the past too and never a problem with reverse swing. Maybe check it on another meter, or have a friend check it out on his gear.

    Which Cb should I use

You got to remember if you're in a big city to check and see if there are any city ordinances or regulations pertaining to the height of an antenna. If you have some spare cash, do as the others suggested with your coax as well as buy an Antron 99 base station antenna. I've had mine for 10+...

    Midland 79-290

These transceivers were notorious for static in the RX as well as poor adjacent channel rejection. I owned one and it was real bad in the mobile, not so much when it was on the base station.

    Picture of 88HL needed

Update. Well I think I have everything all figured out. What I was trying to do is use EPT0SSB50f wiring into a EPT0SS50B chassis. The only thing that I'm hung up on is the actual yellow wire coming off the original echo board into the chassis by R178. If anyone has an original echo board they'd...

Didin't get any responses tilehead. That would be great if you could snap one or two. Have your daughter give you a hand. Thanks!

    Picture of 88HL needed

Can anyone snap a picture of their Galaxy 88HL inside the cover. I'm looking to where a ground lead from the board goes (component side). The picture I need is in the front right corner, microphone plug area of the mainboard. There's a red wire coming off the board that's been cut. All I know is...

WARNING, Don't Carry a Scanner into Michigan!!!

Just get your ham ticket and be done with it. All you got to do is answer a 30 question which aren't hard since the FCC made taking the test easier with their changes in 2000. There are no more element 1 or 2's. Trust me, I went through it by passing element 1, then returning to take the second...

    recievers

AOR receivers are good also. I just picked up an AR8600 U and the thing is sensitive. It is also expandable for digital with the release of their APCO 25 board. A little pricey if you want to just listen to the new digital systems (get the Uniden for that), but all-around-- it's a nice receiver!
