i run a Galaxy 95T and use the skythumper ST 65 and get great reports even when i run it on 10 meters with the amature radio audiophiles. there very suprised when i tell them it's a Galaxy radio.

shucks you already have two great radios with the 706's go with the Cobra 2000 with the freq mods and a amp. i do the same thing i have a Icom 745 and a Yaesu 950 and a Cobra 2000 that i use for regular SSB cb rag chew.also check out the Uniden Washington, i personaly think it's a better radio...

there a good starting point if you can or have some else thats good with amps tighten up the lose ends someone to make it a finished product. i've seen several that lack refined finishing when delivered just minor crap but they work great once finished.

thanks wavrider i've been looking for that web site for a while, been wanting to add one of there kits to a Radio Shack DX-160 short wave radio. i do think the pdc-256 had adjustble offset shift. would it wire the same way as a uniden washington into the TRC-457 if they have the same uniden board.
